Thank You and Congratulations
I'd like to thank all 26 members of the Model UN Club who attended the Stanford Model UN Conference last weekend for your thorough preparation for the Conference, and for making the trip a pleasure for each other and for your chaperones! This year's Stanford Conference was remarkable: the level of discussion was significantly more sophisticated than at most Model UN conferences, and the crises that the organizers created for the delegates were consistently engaging.
I am pleased to announce that the following Club members won awards at the Conference:
Best Delegate, India Partition Simulation: Chong iin Kim
Honorable Mention, International Atomic Energy Agency Simulation: Juliano Pereira
Best Research, European Union Simulation: Zoe Atlas
Best Research, Organization of American States Simulation: Caleb Finkelstein
I would like to congratulate Ms. Kim on winning the Club's first gavel since 2007, and Mr. Pereira on winning his second award at a Stanford Model UN Conference. I'd also like to congratulate Ms. Atlas and Mr. Finkelstein for winning awards at their first Model UN Conferences. (Mr. Finkelstein, it should be noted, is a first year student!)
