Eight AHS Students Win Awards at SMUNC 2016
Twenty Albany High School students attended the 2016 Stanford Model UN
Conference this past weekend. Eight of those students won
awards or commendations in their simulated meetings of
intergovernmental organizations. Senior Sophia Kamps was awarded a "Best Delegate" gavel. Senior Dylan Kurzer-Ogul and junior Evan Mallah won Outstanding Delegate awards. Seniors Ilay Raz, Michael Wang and Sarah Xu won Honorable Mention recognition. Junior Mathilde McKeever won a Research and Writing award, and senior Alex Hempel was commended verbally for his performance.
Thank you to all of the students who attended the Conference this weekend -- especially Club Co-Presidents Alex Hempel and Sophia Kamps -- for making the weekend go so smoothly. Finally, a big thank you to our volunteer chaperones, Susan Bush and Tom Reilly, for making our trip possible.
